I limit my travels to China for business Mostly. Beijing is loaded with chocking smog. China given its huge mass of land size requires several Globalstar ground stations with of course each have four or five Satellite dishes. Huuuuuuge Dishes for the C band up/down links - Phones use L band for uplink to Satellites and S band from Satellites to Globalstar Satellite Phones.
The only city that China
Allows Me to describe by location for Globalstar is Beijing. Of course I have spent time at the Get Go before any ground was broken for each location.
There are NO Command - Tracking and Control Globalstar locations in China or Russia. Can say all Russian locations are Co-Located with KGB facilities which of course have a couple of er new names. Not fun going in or out of these on a daily basis and in fact one hires a crew to cook food cause the exit just for lunch and getting back in is just to much work paperwork wise on a daily basis. Not joking - Russia has 50 guards at the front entry way for each er Former KGB location. On occasion I have borrowed equipment form them er Spies which is always a joke given what they have available is frankly CRAP - When I am in a rush for something really top notch on the quick I get it from a Radio Telescope research station. Those people hate our guts cause our L band stuff makes life hell for Science guys but we do have a working plan to help them out if they give advance notice
