I know, my G-pa was born in 1938, he's still alive and healthy as can be. People still choose to be housewives to this day. I'm not gonna lie, I would not mind living the housewife life.

Yes however even I was just a kiddlet during 50's - My mom was a stay at home mom while I grew up. She because of her University education had work skills that she used to administer a variety of volunteer programs. She was no June Cleaver nor did I meet such until my first girlfriends mom. Of course only later to discover June Cleaver's "Ward's" Wife - Ward was a hard drinking man but WE never noticed that because he was one hell of a quality dad.

Come to think of it every GF's mom that accepted me was June Cleaver.
