Me too, my father was a mean drunk. He also had pretty serious depression, though. I don't really blame him for his actions.

Be happy when gay navy boy gets permab& again.

Sure, we weren't having very many threads, but they weren't filled up with his bullshit.

I don't understand why Someone would want to drink if it doesn't make them feel happy or calm.

It can also determine the out come of your mood when you start. If I'm in a happy mood when I drink, I can be a blast. But if I start drinking when I'm pissed off, you're better off to leave me alone until the next morning.

But everyone is different......

That's part of his cycle. Gets drunk, creeps on the womenfolk online, burns a shitty pizza, gets banned, passes out, tardrages the next day to someone else, pretends like nothing ever happened, repeat.

Bert cycle 3.0

Similar situation, although add cocaine to the mix, and I hold people accountable for their actions, even if there's an underlying issue for their substance abuse. Essentially it was forgiven, but not forgotten.

Still you see the same vicious cycles in a lot of drunks. They have to elect to get a grip. With Bert, this has been going on for years, even if you just look at his chan history. He has short periods of sobriety then boom something derails him, or he's upset by w/e, thinks the cards are down, so goes back to drinking heavily, starts his drunken shitposting, and gets b& (not even taking into account the IRL consequences of his actions). If he honestly wanted help, it's out there, but for whatever reason he won't commit to getting a handle on it.

True, he's tried going to AA before, which didn't last. Syntax has tried multiple times to get Bert to quit, as well. Bert will not listen to reason though, even with all the horrible possibilities staring him in the face.

In the end, it's shitty, but it's hard to feel bad for someone who isn't willing to help themselves. It's not like it's easy to quit, I get that, but there has to be some effort on their end.

He has all the forms for FEL's voluntary euthanasia pioneers program but hasn't got back to me to complete the application process.

Domestos therapy was another alternative he turned down, even though it's the only treatment on the market with a 100% success rate for drinking cessation.

And a %0 relapse rate. You're right though, an effort has to be made on their end.

I fully REMEMBER trying to get bert to AA meeting - I many times have listed the hours and locations WHICH ARE MANY MANY where he lives - Don't think he has tried even once to attend - Now I drive by almost daily one of those AA (uses a city meeting hall {former church} and I see AA peeps hanging out at breaks

What I do see are some attractive young ladies in the group - Wood seem bert wood go just to meed real live women and they could even help each other keep sober.

·Maddy !kCITGirlXc10.1 years ago, 9 minutes later, 23 hours after the original post[T] [B] #489,823

@previous (Syntax)

Yeah, there's usually several groups no matter where you go. Also, young women who are on probation, and could not stay away from the booze. One of the places, in a town I used to live, even offers a place to stay for the night. I remember Bert posting one time on old TC, about how he went to a meeting and was mocking how boring it was.

Yes I remember that as well - I told him one meeting with one group is - Don't remember how I put it but its like watching on channel for a TV show - You find it boring and change channels. He could have tried multiple groups until he found one that suited him or at least said to Self - Not my kind of people but whats the alternative (said to self)

I do see alternatives with ads in newspapers or magazines or TV - BUT those are expensive alternatives for non- AA methods.

His only option is to continue to destroy his own body and find as his only resource for female contact - The Net and when he hits on girls of the Net which he has been doing at any level of sober or not - Never goes well NEVER EVER goes well.

Couple of gals I no and even have pics of them - Very Cute to beyond very cute - They really liked him and are not frightened by him - hey bert if you read this

Sandy think sweet lovely Sandy -Now totally afraid of you given you do not live that far from her - Truly a sad situation given she tried her best to help you.

Maddy - Sand had open house events and invited a huge number of people to her beach house - Was the web master of a very large set of forums. Take all the chans including 4Chan and the Web operation she inherited was much larger than 4Chan is today.

I no how large cause I worked about 30 hours with no sleep going over hard copy bills for traffic costs - servers - 18 T1 lines (Cost of one T1 at time was $800/month
bert was even invited - Me? Could only attend one of the many - Was out of the USA for most of them - bert never showed up for in-person meet n greet

Damn I miss so much of the wayyyy back days - The times at Burning Man where so many people from the net forums did meet and greets and the mass of pot in air so thick and I had not even tried the stuff back then (other then the constant contact highs) Lots of sex too much sex everywhere - Almost everyone nude - and flowing food n booze

Real people with some fun sharing about the difference between a net persona and real life real

And people bert new who are now dead - Several from drugs and booze - A Couple 3 friends of bert now dead from Booze -

That sounds like some really good times. You're right, AA groups can vary greatly from one group to another. Again, an effort has to be made on Bert's end.

No idea why Bert wouldn't want to go to such an event. Maybe there's another problem, that he tries covering with alcohol. As people often do.

Maybe his addiction to black men is more of a problem, and therefore he drinks to forget.
