Meanwhile in Hong Kong:

A guy who cooked his parents was sentenced to life in prison after confessing to their murders. According to Sport Act, Henry Chau of Hong Kong not only murdered his parents, but he dismembered them, salted them, and then cooked their bodies. He stored both of their heads in a freezer where they were found two weeks later by police.

“People may wonder why you did this. The fact there is no obvious answer is what makes you so dangerous. You fail in everything but the piano. You always blame your faults on others but not yourself [...] your parents became the victims of your blame,” said Justice Michael Stuart-Moore.

The guy who cooked (Microwaved) his parents actually confessed to the crimes in a text message sent to a pal. According to The Source, Chau referred to himself as a “psychopath,” and blamed his childhood for his actions. Authorities say that the body parts were found in garbage cans after they were cooked like “barbequed pork.”

“The heads were placed neatly on towels with their eyes not fully closed,” Mak Chun-hung, the forensic officer who made the discovery, told the court during an earlier hearing.

Air freshener had been sprayed throughout the flat to mask the stench and “salted” body parts were found in plastic boxes. A shopping list was also discovered, the South China Morning Post reported. On it were the words: “Knives, saw blades, bleach, refrigerators and microwave ovens."

Mr Chau’s motives remain unclear although he “blamed his mother for forcing him to study piano”, the newspaper said.

He also “hated his father because he refused to turn down the television volume when he was trying hard to study in his school days.” Mr Chau reportedly told psychiatrists he wanted to achieve something important before reaching 30.

The guy who cooked his parents was handed a double life sentence, and was also sentenced to nine plus years for “preventing a proper burial” for his mom and dad. Bottom line: He is not getting out of prison... ever.

Perhaps honest and true Korea is at least in the running for second gratest country. They could have hydrogen bombs now, so that's a possible apocalypse scenario, which is a plus in my book. If nothing else they deserve an honorable mention.
