Level 33 now. Spent a whole lot of time raiding and re-raiding locations before I unlocked hangman's alley as a settlement which is very close to Diamond City and thought well time to advance the main plot

It's hard to say since he's Russian. I'm valuing her at no more than... 1000 rubles a month as a street worker after living expenses.
I mean they'll pay people in the 1st world more than $7k to marry a Russian, but it works both ways since some autists will still pay to marry slavic women.

You cant claim beds afaik, but you can do 2 alternatives:
1. If someone claimed your bed, build a new one elsewhere and assign that bed stealer to the new bed, or
2. Not spoiling things, you can buy your own house in a city later, and you can build interior stuff to your heart content in there without worrying anyone marching in.
Dont use stimpaks at early stage, cooked food could do better healing for they heal a fixed amount while stimpaks heal a percentage, which wont mean much when you're low level.
Most of the time I only build the necessary stuff too, but when you see places getting attacked from time to times you'd start wanting to build sth extra for defense purpose.
