No, the rowboats added in 1.9 work like Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition, where they added ores to the boats. In the aforementioned versions, you have two buttons on the screen you use to control each ore, but for the main version of the game you use the 'a' and 'd' keys to control each ore. Press both keys together to make the boat go straight.

Boats are crafted the same except with a wooden shovel in the middle.

These are the rowboats. I was trying to say you just control them by pressing down the 'a' key to control the left ore and 'd' key for right ore and both to make the boat go straight.

Yeah I know, it just seems like they're going into serious detail for little things that make the game more 'realistic', but don't exactly have any purpose beyond that. That and adding redundant or cosmetic items that you could have done without.

Oh. I haven't really noticed anything besides the continuation of little features and a lot of bugfixes.

But hey, at least we get a better boat system out of it instead of the shitty mouse controlled one.

Hold both key to make the boat go straight? Why can't I just hold forward to go forward like the usual boat?
Geez that's stupid. They could have add steam motorboat like powered-cart on water, but instead they make another redundant boat with awkward control.
Fuck Microsoft. They are killing Minecraft.

Exactly, that's something that should be saved for a survival horror game, or the like. A game where having to row both oars correctly, or die, will get your adrenaline pumping.

I think the blame is still on Mojang actually. Microsoft just profits off of their purchase of the company.
But I am hoping for a possible motorboat and/or sailboat now.
