They added a swipe scanner for logging in and out of the public computer lab and my card didn't have a strip on it so they issued a new one. If I didn't have a math class that was in the public computer lab, I could've just kept with my old card.

Sounds about right, that card is more than a little plastic card afterall. I lost mine once and I remember they charged me $200 hkd for a new one.
