Yeah, it's pretty bad, I can hardly walk, and it's been waking me up several times throughout the night. They're gonna prescribe an NSAID to take in conjunction with the Tylenol 3 I was prescribed for my wrist, that oughta help.

A sling for 11 days, then they're going to take another X-Ray to see if they need to reposition my bones. After that I have to wear a cast for 4 weeks.

Well, I'm only a little disappointed, at least that isn't too bad of an injury, although it'll still be a bitch for a little while. Sorry they only gave you T3 though, you should've at least got some hydrocodone ffs. Just remember to keep to the schedule with the NSAID instead of waiting until it gets bad to take something, and of course, always take NSAIDs with food, blah blah blah, sorry, I forgot you're a doctor.

If your follow up isn't for 11 days, go ahead and call tomorrow so that you can say you've tried the T3 and NSAID and isn't touching the pain. Ask if it should still be hurting this much with the medication, tell them you haven't been able to sleep because of it, etc. It's generally good to be frank and ask if there's anything else they can give you for the pain. This should be the most painful period (unless they have to reset the fracture), so it's the best time to get them, some doctors just try a more conservative approach initially, but since pain is subjective, they'll usually go ahead and write something, especially for a broken bone. If they ask you to come in, don't howl and cry, just grimace when you have to move the injured limbs or they're manipulated, it probably won't be hard to do since it should hurt like a bitch anyway.

All that part meant was that there's no need to oversell it, a lot of people do when they're going for pain meds, even if they have legitimate pain, but that sort of behavior can be a red flag for a doctor. That's all, bud.
