Topic: Album review #3: Opeth, Pale Communion

Swedish metallers' (!) follow-up to 2011's poorly-received 'Heritage', Pale Communion continues the band's exploration of a more 70s, classic prog sound. Steven Wilson again produces, and so predictably there are no complaints on that score. Crisp, clear sound.
Honestly though, I feel that this album offers nothing new. The songs are all perfectly nice, but...a little insipid. Only the last 3 songs show any kind of inspiration.
A decent record, but not one of their best.
6/10
