Can I get rid of the advertising?
Yes. If your ID has at least 100 posts, you won't ever see ads as long as you don't clear cookies. You could also block the ads, we don't care.
Why advertising?
Lawn.
Why NSFW ads?
They generate the most income. This site isn't really safe-for-work anyway, so offending anyone isn't really of much concern.

Where are ads displayed?
Ads are displayed above the first reply in topics, and above the 11th item in Topics/Bumps/Replies.
Where are ads not displayed?
