Damn I forgot you were so close to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. A lab I have never visited. I have no background other then following the stuff.

I used to make my own gunpowder and made some super explosions in my hood and lots of homemade fireworks and sent up a bunch of mice and none harmed other then perhaps some ear damage.

First few months my attempts at making gunpowder resulted in shitty n unreliable. With practice and finding ways to grind every ingredient in2 super fine - and ratios getting them right - Then the stuff was super consistent.

I also made a lot of Nitroglycerin but my conversions to dynamite were not so much so good.

Yea much that I did was not only legal - I as a young teen could buy Sulfuric acid off the shelf at a local pharmacy - Book of how to make explosives was at local library -HOWEVER no real details like rations for gunpowder nor that making Nitro looks easy in print but is one hell of a lot of trouble to remain SAFE
