EDF brani izmišljeni grad pod nazivom New Detroit protiv invazije vanzemaljaca, uz pomoć bio-projektirana zemaljskih insekata. EDF defend a fictional town called New Detroit against an alien invasion, with the help of bio-engineered terrestrial insects. Player goes by the name "Lightning Alpha ', the leader of a team of elite fighters, known as the" Strike Force Lightning. "With the two teams companions, Lightning is (usually) with the help of local EDF fighting forces in the area, even though they are poor compared to Lightning.Priča is divided into three separate sections, which are divided into five different missions. The first chapter is related to introduction in the game, while the second section has a Strike Force Lightning moving through industrial New Detroit to discover the fate of several downed Landers scattered around the city, as well as their pilots and cargo. Only one of them was saved, and that becomes the cockpit of a cool head Captain Sully, a character who returns in later missions. The third chapter tells the story of Lightning findings and transportation "The Cube" in the nest in central New Detroit. Before his assignment, Ant Queen leaves the nest, which is why the Lightning for a battle with the team to ensure the zone relegation.
