Learned this from a gal I was sleeping with and almost made a baby with.

She had sleeping problems. Spent cold hard cash in therapy.

One needs to turn bedroom into a CAVE. Big fan which makes the room cold n windy like a cave. Fan also makes White Noise. White noise is good for sleep.

So Bedroom needs to be very dark - Very cold and very White Noisy. I remember that first night staying over with her - Kinda strange at first nor did I have problems going to sleep so I just put up with that odd bedroom. Years later when I needed to go to sleep but did not feel like it - gave her methods a try and it sure WORKS.

For in the future, maybe get some benzos for anxiety from your doctor. Boom, back up insomnia conqueror.

In emergencies like this though, nyquil as suggested earlier, is an okay substitute. Try something with doxylamine succinate over the benadryl crap.
