girl loses everything and becomes a peasant with her family cos of the war
they run into an old student of her dads whos married with a small baby
the baby becomes sick and then dies so while his wife is hysterical in her sadness her husband thinks its right to leave her, and join the war
the little girls father also had to join. he held his wife and said "whenever i need you, i know youre here in my heart." and he said to his daughter, "im never truly be gone, look up at the moon if you miss me". she told him, "i hope in your next life you will be a bird so you can come and go as you like"
but the next morning she changed her mind and said no, i dont want you to go the moon. take me with you. tell me one last story. he couldnt.
now the soldiers have split up her large family. her grandma, uncle and aunts and cousins are gone forever. forever. why
