Topic: Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter; never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Home
Home again
I like to be here
When I can
When I come home
Cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones
Beside the fire
Far away
Across the field
Tolling on the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell

I told the ex wife to have this song played for me at my funeral... Either this or Comfortably Numb.

This would be perfect imo. Pink Floyd was truly my first and lasting love.

First one I ever heard from them was "Brick in the wall, part 2", when I was about 10.
It wasn't until years later that I heard part 1 and 3.
Its hard for me to pick a favorite album, but The Wall is probably my number 1.

the first time I did acid...my best friend and I listened to Animals.....and on the paneling of the room we were in there was this pattern in the grain that looked just like the profile of a big pig's head...and of course it was moving....we both saw it..
also his dog came into the room later and threw up what looked like a tennis ball sized mound of potted meat....I had to touch it with the tip of my finger after starring at it up close for several minutes..
just saying..

That first hit of acid is always the worst.
The dog puking potted meat(or what it looked like) I had a potted meat incedent a few years ago.
Me and a couple buddies went bar hopping and was wasted. We went to the one guys house about 2am, and we were trying to find something to eat. He gets in the fridge and pulls out a bowl of potted meat. 4 guys sitting at table drinking beer and eating potted meat..... Picture that....
Anyway, his wife comes out, sees what were eating, and says, "What the fuck are you doing"?.
He tells her we were hungry, so we started eating the potted meat.
She says, "That's not potted meat you fucking asshole, its cat food...."

Haha, Pink Floyd and acid, I have similar memories. Good times although I never liked acid much, I had more bad trips than good. My favorite was Dark Side of the Moon (my first) until I heard Animals. For me, that was Gilmour's best work. Floyd's music makes me feel like nothing ever has.
