Anyone know how hard they are to obtain and the best school to go to?

Its not hard to get, the biggest issue I had was remembering everything on the pre-trip and post-trip inspection. You have to get 90 out of 114 items to check for before you pass that part.

You have to learn your 6 sets of hours that you need to pay attention to; 70, 34, 14, 11, 10 and 8. Any screw up of these hours can cost you a hefty fine and be put out of service.

Some companies, Pam Transport, Swift, and CR England does CDL training. But avoid England if at all possible. They treat you like a prisoner.

Companies that do training require a 6, 9, or 12 month commitment to train you. So if you quit before your commitment is up, they will charge you for the training courses.
