Today while Surfing my Ocean a Blue We spotted wot looked like a Gray Whale - but were not 100% sureNews coverage by NBC helicopter just showed the footage - This photo is south of me this year at Point Loma San Diego.
Daily Porpoise but Whales are much more rare here. South of me so often they have daily Whale watches about 20 miles south of me.
Recently even Whales right up next to people on small sail boats with some play.

Did come face 2 face with a Sea Lion on Santa Monica ocean on a October evening. Dove in for wot wood be my last dive in for that summer end while a group of friends including lady I was married2
They wanted no part of chill of ocean but I figured it wood be my last for season - Dove in first wave and my face hit a weird kinda something and WE both came up with Eyes locked to Eyes and Face2Face
As IN pic and we both were in shock - I could only stay in water for 20 mins re chill and that Sea Lion stayed parallel to me the whole time - I tried multiple times to reach out to touch it but it kept its distance - drew my arm in and it came back near me and we played this game for the 20 mins and then I said good by.
