Just logged on and wanted to know what actual qualifications he actually has science or engineering related. Wording appears as though Astrology comes to mind dreaming of the stars.

Science wise? I no from work experience I am NOT a Scientist - Knowing that has put one hell of a lot of cold hard cash in2 my wallet.

Mostly because I knew Exactly when to tell someone with a hell of a lot of money and power that wot he wanted re new technology. The answer to IF it were possible could only come from a serious PhD Scientist - Laws of Physics and Math beyond wot most EE degree Engineers use. At least I knew Exactly and perhaps the one and only Scientist who could solve the yes or no problem.

I do study Science as I enjoy reading about the Physics and I am trying to handle the Math required for Quantum Physics. Its going slow but each step of the way is very satisfying.

I am totally again Astrology. I have almost zero respect for Astrology and people who believe in such

syntax claims all of this even though he has dyslexia and none of his posts make any sense, lets take this sentence for example:

> Science wise? I no from work experience I am NOT a Scientist - Knowing that has put one hell of a lot of cold hard cash in2 my wallet.

"knowing that i am not a scientist has put a lot of cash into my wallet"

im going to say that again because it bears repeating:

knowing that i am NOT A SCIENTIST has put a lot of cash into my wallet"

knowing that i am not a celebrity chef has also netted me millions of dollars, welcome to lynnes world!

"i am totally against astrology"

that means those such as astrophysicists, whose fields have helped humanity better understand the cosmos are nothing compared to syntax

not only that but considering that he worked for "QUALCOMM" he has no idea how sattelites work in the slightest

> I have a Qualcomm in my truck... It sucks...

Do you mean you have Omnitracs in your truck? Betting that you do and it should ROCK. My decade long background with Qualcomm had very little to do with Omnitracs OTHER then I became a huge user of the product/system myself. Qualcomm recently sold off Omnitracs for $800 million bucks and the new owners moved it off Qualcomm campus to Texas.

Back during development of Globalstar Satellites I needed a system to time stamp and locate a fleet of vans that were running around town testing out the first few Satellites. Just a tool AND when I looked into the system I discovered an unknown back up system with full controls to the GEO Satellite - just in case an Earthquake took out San Diego. I jumped on that location to use it as one more building to set up Globalstar test stuff. Got a chance to see first hand the master control operation (carbon copy of San Diego's) and one monitor on a huge 200 inch plus display showed the location of the 350,000 trucks being tracked -

No clue Y U do not like it - They have competition but as a Stockholder of Qualcomm I no its the largest provider of truck tracking and messaging - I had to get software people to write software to customize that system so I could use it and found the Omnitracs people just super to work with. They wood say no u cannot do that with our system then next day call and say we figured out how u can. Many many times.

> knowing that i am NOT A SCIENTIST has put a lot of cash into my wallet"

OK more details. I had just left working for a 3 letter US Gov agency to work directly for a US Congressman for a black operation in Afghanistan - See the Movie Charley Wilsons war. This was a decade long project that ended up super successful but also ended up super horrid re our quick departure and loss of respect by Afghanistan re promises that we all made but were not allowed to keep

During that time I had free time to consult when back in USA and a former Agency guy who was looking to help US Companies move somewhat secrete technology in to main stream US Biz to help US Biz take advantage of advanced technology - He had eye on who was looking for very advanced things to get in2

Making this tl;dr as usual which will get lies from people here who pretend they no read wot i rite

I get a phone call asking me to have lunch with a Movie Studio owner - Lew Wasserman Owner of MCA/Universal studios - Who lost a major case b4 US Supreme court years b4 and had to give up a huge chunk of wot he did for living besides making movies/Records

So he meeting was with me as one of many many consultants he interviewed and he said I lost a 2nd case b4 US Supreme courts cause I took Sony Betamax to court and was told forget about stopping them

So wot I want to do is this - We stamp out records under Decca records/MCA and I want to stamp a 2 hour movie on a record - AND all the engineers I interview tell me it cannot be done!

R U also going to tell me it can't be done? I said NOPE - Don't have a clue if it can be done. Perhaps it can? BUTTTTTTT Ur mistrake is you are asking the wrong people the question.

First you have to find out IF wot u want to do is within the laws of physics. Yes we engineers take Physics in school but none of us are Physicists. Then when a Scientist who is such says it can be done and the limits are XYZ Then Engineers can figure out how to do it Buttttttt it might require inventing new STUFF New Parts New Technology Could take a long time and I gave him an example re a transistor patent in the 1930's or so but none could be made cause it wood be couple of decades to make the materials to make one work.

Anyway I told him I worked with a Physicist and were were both mountain climbing friends and as the Senior Scientist of Hughes Malibu Research labs he was the guy to do the Physics n Math

Bottom line is - I was told that problem was exactly the same problem I had encountered in Spy stuff re Spy Satellites needed a huge memory and Magnetic storage was no where near developed enough so we used a rather lame Optical memory and I do mean very lame and almost embarrassed to detail how we did it - Similar in a way to Desi of Lucy and Desi of TV fame -

And given that form of Optical memory wood suck for a 2 hour movie one wood look at some more advanced way to do - Long story ends up the invention of Laser disk - Shocking to discover for self that a couple of guys in Santa Monica who were major suppliers to MCA records - they provided High Speed tape duplicators 240 inch per second masters cranking out to slaves in super fast time Tape cassettes

Those two guys had a patent on Laser to disk recording albeit they had not actually made one work - We bought the company and the patent and one eventually a Laser Disk recorder was developed - Need a laser invention by Phillips and IBM as partner and several major partners and in the end the Discovision Laser disk machine hit the market and flopped -

However the patent base and u r free to verify by look up on net - The patents for DVD DVR and any device that uses Laser to record and play back - all were held by MCA/Universal studios -
I brought in a Hughes Optical specialist and a bunch of other Hughes people and between Afghanistan worked on n off that project in more a management roll then engineer.

But bottom line is that I new when I was out of my league and when to call in a Science guy

@443,009 (C)

> not only that but considering that he worked for "QUALCOMM" he has no idea how sattelites work in the slightest

LOL U cannot even Sprel Satellites - Just about any Engineer takes Physics and basic Satellite technology ends up as chapter in Physics - Not that one could do much with such a course but it sure is basis for starting - I also worked for a very short time on the first GEO Satellite Hughes invented with one hell of an Engineer and learned quickly the LAST THING I WANTED TO DO DESIGN WISE was do designs on making a Satellite - I did my one task and got the hell off that program quickly - So many reasons Y the innards re design of a Satellite and me are a very poor mix

However when it comes to getting them UP and keeping them UP - I do not know anyone more better then me cause I recently hired a few former NASA guys to help me so I could do more stuff for Verizon on the ground n also cause I felt like perhaps I had to many eggs in one basket working on LEO Satellites - AND for last couple of Months I have been working on several GEO's mostly for Eu use

I also have much to say about how to make a bundle of money re Stock Market and Anything that uses Spectrum as Spectrum is where its at but SEC has sent me letters warning me which gives me visions of Martha Stewart and possible issues with inside information

I can say Spectrum is so much needed and so few have it and those that do - Nuff said

Omnitrac/People net is what it is, still run by Qualcomm. I don't like it because instead of running paper logs, I now use this. This shortens up my driving time.

It keeps track of everything this truck does. I hit 80 mph going down a hill and it started beeping at 75.

Hell, before long, it'll be able to tell my dispatcher every time I fart and how loud it was.

The only thing I like about it is I can receive load information and can communicate with dispatch.

The hours of service is what I don't like on it. On paper logs I can tweak my time a little bit and give myself a few more minutes of extra driving time.

LOL

OK I get that - Now the trick is - And no one but me going to tell you this - Because of costs of BW - Your truck is not constant connected to the GEO Satellite. So your speed is NOT being reported every fucking second Minute - It depends on how large the trucking company is you work for. Fed Express can afford to buy more constant tracking and few others can.

So IF U were to know the time intervals - Which also means NO Messaging when you speed up in between - You can beat the beeping IF you were to know the gap times and play with that.

But yea the total package does exactly what it was designed to do. I needed access to that system with 30 second updates and if I were to use it again I wood need updates every 10/th of a second.

But Qualcomm engineers may still run it but ONLY as Ex-Qualcomm employees. Everyone moved to Texas and most are unhappy going from Ocean a Blue to Desert Sand and lots of bad weather

I feel their pain but it sure put more Cold Hard Cash in my wallet.

The Trucker replied in thread

The Trucker Understood my whatever resembles english (u failed to capitalize such) Its more proper to say Inglish

One of my specialties in Engineering is CDMA. A key reason it works so well is that when anyone looks at the signal it does not resemble any intelligence

Seriously not resembling Intelligence has turned into over a Trillion dollars of business when u add up I-Phone Qualcomm Samsung and those now failed Eu cell phone companies now mostly of no account
