For what it's worth, I was raised in a secular household and figured out early on that god (as he is depicted by the religious) just made no sense to me. No amount of church and bible study etc. could have changed that.
But for a long time I envied those that did believe. The camaraderie and ritualism seemed like a safe and cozy place to be. A way to fit in.
Maybe you miss fitting in somewhere.
