President Barack Obama will make a statement on immigration on Thursday night, followed by a rally at a Las Vegas high school with Senator Harry Reid on Friday, two sources familiar with the situation told NBC News.

Results from a Wall Street Journal poll released on Wednesday found that the president is entering risky political territory with his planned action on immigration but that Americans broadly share his goals for policy reform.

In response, Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn of Texas said that

the president's "unilateral action, which is unconstitutional and illegal,
will deeply harm our prospects for immigration reform."

Rand Paul on Hannity: "I think with regard to immigration reform, [the president] is doing something that Congress has not instructed him to do and in fact has instructed him otherwise, so I think the Supreme Court would strike it down," he said. "That takes a while, but that may be the only recourse short of a new president."

Rand Paul of course needs to look at the list of
13,681 EO's with .061% touched by a single court.

Of the 13,681 EO's total - Congress has altered less than 4 percent of executive orders.

In fact Rand Paul referred to the Truman Union EO because with a quick look that was the only case he could locate LOL

Obama is going to make a lot of Illegal's happy for a happy holiday.

Republicans are currently making Threats all kind of Threats. Brains all over WDC are EXPLODING

So number is it just the number appox 5 million the issue?

So once upon a time there was a President few think about anymore. TV Actor Union Boss and Democrat who ends up elected as President

So none of you wood have a clue about Ronnie

Anyway one day he says - Congress is not doing its job and wot does he do? EO EO EO EO EO

Ronald Reagan: "Ronald Reagan: " "I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally"

1986 Republican Reagan with a SINGLE EO - gave legal status to up to

3 million immigrants without authorization to be in the country,

if they had come to the U.S. before 1982. Spouses and children who could not meet that test did not qualify.

Congress after the EO without being mad as hell then passed a bill - a sloppy 2nds bill yet a bill never the less

In 1986, Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act, a bipartisan immigration reform bill that created a pathway to citizenship for 3 million undocumented immigrants. Simpson-Mazzoli is now referred to by some conservatives as the “Reagan amnesty,” and came up during both the 2007 and 2013 immigration reform debates.

In 1987, President Reagan used the power of executive action for approximately 200,000 Nicaraguans to remain in USA

1990. In February, President George H.W. Bush, with a EO acting through the Immigration and Naturalization Service, established

a "family fairness" in which family members living with a legalizing immigrant and who were in the U.S. before passage of the 1986 law were granted protection from deportation and authorized to seek employment.

The administration estimated up to 1.5 million people would be covered by the policy.

He Bush Sr. protected about 40 percent of the unauthorized population. Back then that was up to 1.5 million. "Today that would be about 5 million."

LATER 10 Fuck*ing months later - Congress in October passed a broader immigration law that made the protections permanent.

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed an executive order alleviating our immigration system for Chinese students who were studying in the United States and potentially ran the risk of being persecuted back in their country of birth.

in 2001, President George W. Bush signed an executive order, granting an immigration extension to approximately 150,000 Salvadorians.

My Accomplishments by George Bush, Jr.
-------------

I attacked and took over two countries.

I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the US Treasury.

I shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history (not easy!).

I set an economic record for the most personal bankruptcies filed in any 12 month period.

I set an all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock market.

Oh sorry I almost derailed my own Topic 4give me please - So wot did George Jr do re EO and Immigration?

STREAMLINING EXISTING GUEST-WORKER PROGRAMS

18. The Department Of Labor (DOL) Will Reform The H-2A Agricultural Seasonal Worker Program. No sector of the American economy requires a legal flow of foreign workers more than agriculture, which has begun to experience severe labor shortages as our Southern border has tightened. The President has therefore directed DOL to review the regulations implementing the H-2A program and to institute changes that will provide farmers with an orderly and timely flow of workers, while protecting the rights of legal laborers.

19. The Department Of Labor Will Issue Regulations Streamlining The H-2B Program For Non-Agricultural Seasonal Workers. Because businesses in seasonal industries such as landscaping and hospitality frequently have a difficult time locating temporary workers, the H-2B program has proven quite popular. Some employers report significant processing delays, however. DOL's proposed rule will speed processing by moving from a government-certified system to an employer-attestation system akin to the PERM system that has reduced backlogs in other areas.

20. The Department Of Homeland Security Will Extend The Visa Term For Professional Workers From Canada And Mexico To Attract More Of These Talented Workers To The United States. The United States must compete for foreign professional workers, and those who elect to lend their talents to the U.S. economy should be welcomed with open arms, not given a bureaucratic runaround. Yet the roughly 65,000 workers who enter the United States each year on the TN visa must go to the trouble of renewing their visa every year. This regulation will extend the TN visa duration to three years -- the same term as other popular professional visas

A HUGE list of EO's on immigration - some to make it easier for Illegals some to make it difficult for illegals depending on who's wallet need filling such as farmers and Tech companies

26. The Department Of Education Will Launch A Free, Web-Based Portal To Help Immigrants Learn English, And Expand This Model Over Time. Knowledge of English is the most important component of assimilation. An investment in tools to help new Americans learn English will be repaid many times over in the contributions these immigrants make to our political discourse, economy, and society.

and to round this out which is far to much to read unless you all have taken blood pressure meds?

In April 1975, at the end of the Vietnam War, Republican President Ford used parole authority to authorize the evacuation of 200,000 South Vietnamese to this country; it was not until a month later that the Indochina Migration and Refugee Act of 1975 was enacted, providing resettlement funding for 130,000 of those parolees. Full legislative authorization to resettle those fleeing Indochina did not come until 1980, when Congress passed the Refugee Act, resulting in permanent resettlement of 1.4 million Indochinese in the U.S.. Although most entered as bona fide refugees, hundreds of thousands were paroled into the country when statutorily authorized numbers proved inadequate.

But these broad exercises of discretion were limited to refugees fleeing wars a long time ago, right? Wrong. Presidents have exercised their discretion more than 20 times since the mid-1970s to permit people already in the U.S. from being deported. Some sought to avoid return to a Soviet bloc country. Iranians in the 1980s sought protection from the regime that overthrew the shah and occupied the American Embassy there. Afghans in the U.S. in the 1980s and 1990s were protected first from the Soviet puppet state and later from the Taliban. Others would have been returned to face civil war or natural disasters abroad. Not until 2003, several decades after the practice of country-specific relief from deportation was first deployed, did Congress codify the practice known as "temporary protected status."

The record also shows that Congress made many executive orders of temporary relief permanent, often years after the fact. As Fidel Castro took power in Cuba in 1959, more than 900,000 Cubans fled to the United States, the vast majority paroled into the country by Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson. Not until 1966, some seven years after the influx began, was the Cuban Adjustment Act passed.

In 1980, 130,000 Mariel Cubans and nearly 40,000 Haitians arrived in South Florida. Most, but not all, of the Cubans were paroled into the U.S. by President Carter. Haitians initially were protected from deportation by litigation challenging the denials of their asylum claims; most of these Haitians, and some Cubans whose entry had been challenged, eventually received discretionary "Cuban-Haitian entrant status" in the Reagan administration. Six years later, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 provided lawful permanent resident status for Cuban-Haitian entrants.

Tide pool day so once my Feets hit the Sand and run is complete - With a choice of play in Tide pools with friends or back here to play on TC?

Work Work - Yesterday off loaded a bunch of work to new hires and I am 95% sure they can do it without me baby sitting.

1: Eu direct TV equiv people are THRILLED all of a sudden that my predictions of the Wiggle Wobble would over many many weeks become more better. Computer Models on on Supercomputers disagreed disagreed and I still have no clue nor do THEY why the Wiggle Wobble in the first place. So there is NO WAY the computer model that disagreed with me can be accurate.

I hate just hate not understanding why something does not work correctly. That said there comes a point where one says - Its toast or just says - Lets see if we can fix it and who knows? Well it appears to be resolving for NOW - Later? Could end up filling my wallet again? Bottom line that project according to the Insurance company who is paying 50% of my work says they no want to pay more currently

The Owner of the Satellite says we continue to pay. I say ok but if I continue to monitor and make design change plans for the wot if? Then you pay 100% cause I no work for 1/2 price.

So they say - Continue to work on the issue just in case - AND we will temp pay 100% but that might change any moment- I say ok but if that is the deal you all need to do the Verizon pay way. Pay on demand by electronic transfer to bank.

So as I prepare to run 2day THEY are in meetings trying to figure out how to deal with Ego driving me. Me as well

Shoes on in 10 minutes n out of here!
