+Anonymous A — 11.7 years ago #39,391
I was watching The Simpsons and Homor said he found this new British sitcom which was airing on PBS.
I also recall reading that Doctor Who also aired on the channel long ago.
What does PBS even air now?

Better NOT b Cathy. Submit PBS to Google
=
==>
http://www.pbs.org/
Site has a java overlay that directs you to your local station. Local stations may not air all PBS content.
To see what PBS corp offers requires a Browser set to not accept cookies and java - or to live in England were PBS is not relevant. -Otherwise PBS.org forces you to a local station or 3

Not exactly true at all. I think all PBS stations are independent and pick and chose which PBS programs to air. Many do show Doctor Who. And PBS Corp has produced a number of specials about Dr Who.
Last when in Austin the PBS channel had Dr Who series on and locally I can pick up two PBS stations which air Dr Who and of course my Falklands TV channel aka BBC airs Dr Who
I remember watching one produced by PBS that was aired in Australia back when I worked n NSW

the Guano Islands Act (11 Stat. 119, enacted 18 August 1856, codified at 48 U.S.C. ch. 8 §§ 1411-1419) is federal legislation passed by the U.S. Congress that enables citizens of the U.S. to take possession of islands containing guano deposits.
Whenever any citizen of the United States discovers a deposit of guano on any island, rock, or key, not within the lawful jurisdiction of any other Government, and not occupied by the citizens of any other Government, and takes peaceable possession thereof, and occupies the same, such island, rock, or key may, at the discretion of the President, be considered as appertaining to the United States.
