Once you have the job, allow a suitable period to prove your efficiency as a worker. Once you have accomplished this, inform your employers that you are transitioning. It may be true, but the tone of these replies suggest some kind of personal hostility. As a general rule, we don't dislike people simply for dropping out or failing during their first year of formal study (attrition rates are actually higher than we imagine). Has he made openly inflammatory remarks since he returned to the board; provoked animosity in some way that I'm presently unaware of?
