Because the initial excitement of low prices is far exceeded by the ongoing disappointment of low quality.

Except ya must be aware that one can pay full price for something and its of less quality then item at 30% less
For example most products at Trader Joe in USA are wayyyyy cheeper and of more better quality then advertised brands

So believe advertising less, that will help.

Given that Trader Joes has a loyal following and the company does not do direct advertising - more a support of public radio or TV and dats about it.
And everyday they sample wot they sell so one gets to say NO Way I buy that or Damn that is amazing- Currently a Steak Pie that is shocking in quality but of course finding it not so much so easy re lines form as it comes in the back door.
Advertise less only works when reputation of past products allows any new product to gain respect b4 anyone has tried the product. Very untypical

I have never and will never underestimate the value of a Steak Pie. Advertising probably influences more of what people do, than violence on film ever has.
