The stubbon gingerShort ginger girl who won't help loading trucks or lorries because she says she lacks strength. I asked her to put a few light boxes into a car boot today and she told me "no" before I could make it an order the 15 year old who's working through his summer hols did it. She seems very stubbon and believes she should only bo doing technical work as she learning to be lighting designer but casuals are for general purpose, not al all flexable and could cause problems in the future.
Butch dyke
Cool chick with good tastes in music. Likes to play metal and industrial which is a big bonus, eager to help on all jobs including loading and unloading. However, she is the slowest out of all staff and I've seen her texting more than the others. Not good technically and sometimes misses out items to be picked on jobs so she can't pick jobs by herself unless someone checks it over. I can't afford to let a job out that is missing items, ever! It's a small company and the cost of courier just for a few cables is most unwelcome.
Mike break
Mike is in his early 50's and if you believe his bragging he's the best LD in the UK but works as a casual in a lighting warehouse. He says he does it to care for his sick wife and he lives local. I feel Mike can find employment easer then the other two but he is great as his job and knows more about video walls than anyone else of which we have 8. However, he takes more cig breaks than anyone else combined. I feel out of place ordering him back into work as he's older and good at his job. I've tried shaming him by calling him "Mike break" in front of everyone else but so far it hasn't worked.
I have to axe one on the orders of the MD. He wanted two axed but I talked him out of it as we are getting busy come October/November.

Let Butch know, she can text during breaks.

I want her gone too but mostly because I hate stubbon people. I have this vision that everyone should be able to do everything within the shop and she stands in the way, I also know her "type" as that one techie girl who gets the better gigs because she sucks up to the right people and is a bitch to others.

I can do that but I would need to make it a universl rule but wanted to make it an easy going place. If I was pure and non bias I would probably axe her but she's the one I like the most.

He is, sort of. We're at the stage where there is always something to do as I'm resorting everything but I'm worried about the busy season which starts in a couple of weeks and ends half way through december. I don't want others to copy him. I axe him or make him a special case at this point. Sacking two and employing one more isn't an option.

Sack the ginger. Take the others aside separately, and tell them what is letting their work down. Let them know that their job is on the line. Don't be surprised if they start looking for a new job either.

@previous (F)I already thought about telling them they face the axe. Trouble is, I feel that Mike Break would just walk out and Butch Dyke would look for casual work else where on the industrial estate. I'm also in this job now because it was hinted that I might be replaced in my old job but anyway, I have an update...
UPDATE.
Mike Break is safe! MD says he has to stay and it turns out he was offered a full time postion twice this year but turned it down as he demanded silly wages and too much flexable time. MD feels we have him cheap even with his mike breaks, I've also got to stop calling him "Mike Break" appreantly his video wall expertise can not be replaced for the money we pay warehouse staff.
That leaves Butch Dyke and Ginger. I feel MD wants to keep Ginger as she might be a future asset but fuck that bitch, I gunna sack her on Friday then tell MD we're keeping Butch Dyke as an all rounder for when 15 year old leaves next week although Butch Dyke won't be happy when I ask her to sweep the yard and do stock checks and she might fuck up the stock checks but at least she'll keep me updated with modern industrial as I'm older and out of the loop. I feel we would have been friends if I was 15 years younger and still going to Slimelite on a Saturday night.
