Topic: We ordered a couple of those DNA testing kits from 23andme...

+Anonymous A12.1 years ago #36,531

I'm fairly confident I will prove to be 100% nigger but I have to wait a few weeks to find out for sure.

Has any other TinyComrade done one of these things?

+Anonymous B12.1 years ago, 17 minutes later[T] [B] #413,093

23andme does not do autosomal DNA testing so it leaves out most of your DNA. Mito and Y-DNA are only a small portion of ancestors.

Ancestry.com or maybe National Geographic. I've been thinking about getting one too.

Ah and for OP

Do not let cost of Ancestor.com get in your way. In USA most libraries or at least any Public University library subscribes and you can use a computer for free to do a search on that data base.

Also Mormons have their own data base for such searches and you can use their web site to do searches and they cover a lot of the world

I heard that the Mormons vetting process for new lineage isn't exactly strict...so I wonder about the accuracy of their information. Some years ago I was doing a lot of searching online, came up with some good info but my stepmother had already done most of the work and got my paternal line back to 1620. Cool stuff.

Yes its true about Mormon list but we can call wot their problem is as CHAF - So it takes looking at date info added and some work to cut through the mess - They on a mission to turn mass of people in2 Mormons - So say if my Mom were to die. Mormons wood read obit and then put her name n info on their list and convert her via database to make her a Mormon - Not kidding and they say they will stop that but so far many years later they still do until a relative says TAKE her off the list as Mormon

Silly Mormons

My ex wife now passed was gifted a diary of a capt of a whaling ship back to 1600's and has world class legible writing and illustrations - I recently copied it and sent original to library where capt is buried on east coast coastal town

Haters goin hate. Frankly I cannot be pot not calling kettle black. When I doxxed n outed Matt Miller as a Pedophile n reported that to FBI at tyme he was teaching at Academy of the Sacred Heart (Grand Coteau, Louisiana) as French teacher n was fired the very next day - almost 3 years there nor does he show it on current resume for a very good reason. So yes I am a hater but its all about Pedophiles.

I wish I had kept that diary but I promised the Uncle who gave it to wife I wood donate it to that library and a promise I keep or my Jewish Catholic guilt fucks me over. Getting rid of guilt is a very good thing to do - Copies are on quality paper but not parchment which If I had to do it over I should have sent it out to someone who could attempt a match of paper and then bound it - Its on my list to leather bind the copy b4 year end

They run about $100 each.

@413,129 (M )
We almost went with ancestry.com but a friend had suggested 23andme so we went with it.

@413,131 (Syntax )
Ancestry would've been a little cheaper but oh well. We'll see what happens with these first since they're already here.

Just want to clear this up. 23andMe provides extensive autosomal (chrosomes 1-22) coverage---they were one of the first companies to provide this for ancestry purposes and they have the largest database of individuals genotyped at this level. The Genographic project (National Geographic) does mitochondrial and Y chromosome (for men, of course) testing only AFAIK.

Dude, you're clearly a cat, you don't need a DNA test to find that out.

You're not the first person to suggest that but I need to know for sure... you know, to put my mind at ease.

Our cat. He's polydactyl (he's got some bonus toes), hence the large paws.

+Svet !jzYkdX7lIw12.1 years ago, 6 minutes later, 21 hours after the original post[T] [B] #413,268

In France they banned DNA testing on children to see who's the real father because they said "fatherhood is a social construct" Which means if your cheating girlfriend gets knocked up you're still liable for its upbringing even if it comes out black or w/e.

lolwut.

The only thing that sucks about this is after Nov something 2013 the FDA won't let them release health related information with these tests. Which is lame.

@413,272 (The Detector !3yzc29zx8c)
I plead the fifth.

@413,301 (M )
Maybe.

@previous (ducky !MwWb.dJjRc)
He also has a wonky ear from a scuffle he got into. The vet tried to repair it but it didn't take. He's still happy and healthy though.
