Yet Clouds nor Fog nor even a Tent or maybe the roof of a house no obscure taking photos from space - Even under ground from Space. Discovered some ancient remains like Mayan & Egyptian untouched tombs. (I no discover but designed the technology that does) Lots n lots of various means of compression for Signal Processing
A Side note- Imaging Radar goes back to 60's and one can take one of those original boxes for Spy aircraft and the ground stuff and give me 2-3 days at the most and I can turn it into a full on working Cell phone system almost exactly as CDMA works 2day. Qualcomm by the way gives Credit of the Idea n Patent to Hedy Lamarr actress b4 of of you or me was born. Co-invention for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping.
I have also done a bit of Compression technology for Audio which as paid for I did but never proud of fucking up good Audio. So it comes down to wot you want to compress and finding a more better and profitable way to do it. What do you want to compress?

Oh how true that is. Cost of that bandwidth is actually taking money out of my pocket - I could also go on a rant over how marketing has driven more use of net and cell stuff to drive up BW problems and your spot on re much could be done to shrink BW with some great technology SO gets some partners and draw up a plan and I am not joking
You can fund the R&D with Crowd Funding - I can retrieve a post I made on another chan and will do it as a fresh topic here about how easy this is to do - EVEN some really interesting tech things that are going wayyy over the top on money the inventors want.

FatFuck is crowdfunding a recycled Ghoul gig to buy photo equipment and to run a web site - a total scam as in the past yet - He wants to get more people to eat sewage in China - and as fucked up as he is - Yes he is far short of making his goal but with 55 hours left out of 45 days he has raised $880 for a total Con Scam
It wood seem easy to me for you to do an honest job of asking for funding to compress web bw and I wood place a bet you can make it work and I wood even put some cold hard cash in2 such a plan -
