So I had to ask self just wot does it cost British Empire Citizens to watch the Telly or listen to Radio
In the United Queendom and the Crown Jewel Dependencies, any household watching or recording live television transmissions as they are being broadcast (terrestrial, satellite, cable, or internet) is required to hold a television licence.
Annual licence fee has been £145.50 for colour and £49.00 for black and white.
Guessing it costs £145.50 to watch on Xbox?

Its ok - I assume that after Brits pay Annual licence fee they also get unlimited Internet use n max bandwidth with no caps and all channels available on Cable.
So its not really so costly on 1st look

lol they offer that as an option? that's basically extra signal processing because they aren't going to broadcast 2 versions simultaneously, so the box has to downconvert from color to b&w. someone better be exploiting that by disabling the b&w processor and paying the cheap price.

Not if it's an analogue CRT. Monochrome CRT televisions are still widely used in the UK.
