Topic: How big of a fan of Doctor Who would you say you are?
+Anonymous A — 12.2 years ago #35,914
I've only recently started watching the show, starting with The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor last year and continuing with the first 3 seasons (so far) of new Who this year.
I own a few Doctor Who books about the characters and history of the show. One of them I got signed by Peter Davison. There's a building close to my university with a life-sized TARDIS model, which I visit often.
Anyway, I would only consider myself a small fan of the show due to my limited knowledge and because I am relatively new to the show. How about you?

Probably only a small fan too as I only really seen the NuWho stuff, the very first episode with Hartnell, part of the first episode with Pertwee, and currently a few episodes with McCoy after being curious on how he portrayed the role after seeing The Hobbit.

I've seen all of the episodes available, but I'm only a moderate fan at best.

Not a big fan. I've watched the first two seasons in the new series and I think they're okay, but it seems to me that they've placed a lot of emphasis on making the characters as hip for the kids as possible, especially after Eccleston's departure.

Do you think they'll follow this same formula for Capaldi?

I know that Christopher Eccleston is the 9th doctor. And I know the Tardis is a British police box painted blue. That makes me me a complete fanatic right?

Well no shit, Sherlock. Quit interpreting a 2-letter word so literally, Mr. Autism.

Actually, Christopher Eccleston is now the 9th Doctor, 10th Incarnation.
The writers added a new Doctor between him and Paul McGann.
Most likely because Eccleston didn't want to reprise the role for the 50th Anniversary special.

This was "The War Doctor" or as some refer to him as "The Other Doctor".
