Trigger warnings are important. I've had classmates with PTSD - some were in the military.

basically, unless someone you cared about was brutally murdered before your eyes, or you were repeatedly raped and beaten as a child, you are not a ciivilian with PTSD.

otherwise, trigger word would need a trigger word because 'trigger' could trigger some unpleasantness brought about at the trigger.

I read online of some fat girl who convinced herself to start having an emotional break down at the dinner table cos her cousin had lost weight and people were praising her, and that dieting and discussing losing weight was a trigger for her and her family just doesnt understand lol

@404,702 (F)
The other dude i knew had gun-related PTSD and wasn't in the military. I have friends who have PTSD because they were raped. Kissing was their trigger. Don't delegitimize victims because the 'trigger word' thing has been blown up to people using it flippantly all the time tw: tw

In the 1950s, they would show traffic accident photos and films, severed heads and all, to the kids taking drivers' ed in school. Now we have "trigger words".

Everybody has a different level of tolerance for pain or trauma don't be a dick getting raped once or shot once is enough
