Camelopardalids mostly North America dusty remnants of Comet209P/LINEAR which if I remember korrectly is somewhat recent discovery.
On occasions bits of comets end up doing very bad stuff to Satellites. Punch holes in Solar cells or worse a hole in fuel tanks - More then one dead bird as result. Life cut short with many.
One turns tanks away from projected bad stuff bits with lots of NOAA n Norad help. No Satellite operator including spy guys have equipment to track Meteor showers so fully dependent on those who have equip and supercomputers for help.

er not exactly true re not seeing meteor. I go out with friends to some remote location and we spread out blankets and have late nite picnic
Have viewed Fireworks so many tymes from Cosmic occasions - People yelling there and there and sometimes two per minute or more
BUT NEVER NOT Once have viewed a day tyme event as u did. Plus that event you saw was rite in ur own back yard which makes it very rare.
Next tyme invite us over

Its supposed to be grey late night skys here and previous plans make it not possible to go out East and do Fri/Sat showers
Will be however in view of 5 Sun workstations and two PC screens - Looking for signs of damage among almost 100 individual Satellites - Have a lot of help on this so I R only one of many worker bees this go round-

Russia Ya
Live streams last night showed not so much from ground view - Here in Cardiff by the Sea total marine layer so not a star in view and could only see multiple live streams on a 40 inch monitor - Not all that much action per hour.
NOAA now says then believe more sky action 2nite - for sure there was all that was expected in Space.
