First, I want to congratulate Natalie Portman for her Oscar nomination as well as her engagement and new baby.
Second, it may be too much to ask, but with her Harvard degree, it might do a world of good if she would make a stand in the battle against autism. With the odds rising, many autism or asperger-diagnosed teens struggle to make the jump to college, and even those who are lucky enough to make it to Harvard or Yale have trouble staying due to their immense size and selective policies. Even smaller colleges like Fulton-Montgomery Community College can be difficult, as I have learned personally.
I'm saying that those like Natalie who already have achieved role-model status not only have the money, but possess the knowledge to help autistics as well. Her major is child psychology, but even that could help since most autistics have child-level communication skills.
This could be a turning point as big as the fight against AIDS if supported, so I'm urging if and whenever possible.
