Topic: Dad shoots boy for being in daughters room.

+Anonymous A12.5 years ago #33,464

A 17 year old was shot after sneaking into his 16 year old girlfriend's room at night. The father found them, got into a fight with the boy, and then the "homeowner felt alarmed, so he shot him".. real words from the article. So now that 17 year old is dead now, and the shooter gets to be a "homeowner". I know we're thinking this must be in Florida, but this time it's Texas.

Something tells me that OP never had to worry about getting caught in a girl's bedroom.

isn't it legit to shoot a break-in? he might be a burglar, or a drunk rapist looking to rape his little girl

Ye, but the law varies state to state.

There's castle doctrine in TX which includes stand your ground in the home.

For example if you lived in TX and legally owned a gun and Bert tried to make good on his threats against your family, and broke into your home, you would be well within your rights to shoot him.
