Eh, still a bit too celtonegroid for my likes.
I worry this false reassurance is to cover the fact that lighter skin may more be due to environmentally-induced decreasing testosterone/increasing estrogen levels than any genotypical factors.

I'd be sceptical of the finding. Only one gene, SC25F4, really regulates for a difference in skin tone. Any further whitening beyond that will be hormonal in origin, usually a deficiency of androgens or an excess of estrogens. Fluctuations in corticosteroids will have an effect either way depending on the individual. I'd be less concerned what constitutes aesthetic whiteness and more what constitutes ancestral and characteristic whiteness.
