The user known as Bert suffered acute ethanol poisoning compounded by sepsis that resulted in reduced liver function... he had been diagnosed with Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome recently and had unfortunately chosen to cope with the illness by the hair of the dog methodology... he passed away early last night at UT Medical Center. Bert's last words are unknown... no one knew anything was wrong until he had lost consciousness. I like to think they would've been "rat.a.t..tat...tat.. on that ass" or "damnit jim.. it's dead".
If anyone would like to send their condolences to his family, please post them here. The family has received enough flowers, cards, and baked goods already and has expressed their gratitude but wishes to be left alone to mourn the passing of their beloved son, brother, and uncle. Bert's family has decided to donate all of his possessions to St. James Episcopal Church which hosts the AA meetings he had attended in the past. If anyone would like to send a donation to the church in Bert's memory, the address is:
