I firmly believe that you should love yourself before you love another person. When you both love yourselves first and then love each other, then that's the best possible way to raise a kid. I find it really hard to think that some people can act as parents without giving their child the best possible outcome, you know? That always seemed so selfish.

Every few months I contact the ex that I wronged and we send multi paragraph messages to each other for a couple of weeks. Then she doesn't respond to one and I begrudge sending a second message to remind her; instead I sit pondering why she didn't reply. After a number of months I cave and send her a message seeing how she is.
All others apart from one I don't keep in contact.
The second ex I hadn't spoken to for a few years and she randomly added me on facebook two years ago; she didn't say hello and neither did I. For two years it's been a stalemate but I realise she took the first step of adding me so maybe I should have said hello. It's been two years and she has a great job, great boyfriend, great family, and a great life in another country. I don't know what to talk about with her since her facebook updates have already clued me up.
