When I see one all that I can think of is how bad it would be to get into an accident in one of those but I have never seen an accident involving one.

yeah, i'd rather drive something at least somewhat ecologically friendly if i had to drive something

I don't think I would. I've only seen one in my neighborhood. I have seen several in the wealthier areas closer to the beach. They're probably used to run short errands, cause I've yet to see one in the freeway.

A few of my teachers drive them; given the location of my school, they'll be driving on the highway over a mountain.

I wouldn't want to drive one full speed into an oncoming H3 but otherwise they're completely fine. You're not buying a metal coffin on wheels if that's what you are thinking.
