I never got to take photography, but I took plenty of design classes and I love abstract work. Paring things down to simple line and form, with or w/o color is fascinating to me.

No, I haven't taken any design classes, just learning that stuff through photo. The lack of colour hurts as well, since it takes away one aspect. Some burning and dodging might be good though, like darkening some parts but not others.
