Elizabeth Starr's massive size O breasts are now becoming a health hazard, to the point that she risks dying from a blood clot if she doesn't remove them
The 44-year-old has been working in the adult film industry for 20 years and is one of the mainstays of the "big-bust" porn niche. In 1999, in an effort to further her career, she underwent a risky and now-banned 'string-implant' procedure that causes her breast implants to continually fill with fluid as time progresses. The process, Starr says, has led to a life of painful misery.
"There is so much scar tissue in my breasts it's affecting the blood flow to the body and could cause a fatal blood clot," Starr said.
Since then, Starr has undergone 63 surgeries to try to get rid of the scar tissue.
"Over the years, I've seen cases of string implants. I've never seen a case like this," Dr. Alex Sinclair, who has routinely worked with Starr and her condition, said. "Elizabeth's future is uncertain."
Now, Starr is facing a difficult decision: the only sure way she can avoid dying from a boob-induced blood clot is to have a double mastectomy---a procedure Starr is unsure about getting, since it's her breasts that have made her career.
"A mastectomy would take away my livelihood and I don't know what else I would do." Starr said.
Hopefully she'll be able to live with whatever decision she makes.
