it's haxeflixel, i thought i'd give it a try since it boasted hella crossplatform powers and it's in a language ive been meaning to learn for a while
and it's just a flash game, nothing too much.

oh really? I didn't find it listed in the About page, so I thought it doesn't.
If it support html5, I'd suggest you go for it instead of flash.

i had tried writing an engine for it entirely in javascript/canvas using pure html as interface elements but gave up a while ago because it was getting bloated.
and i plan to build it in every available ......thing just to maximize accessibility

ehh yep tried with html5 canvas myself before, things can be annoying compare to flash. but if this haxeflixel lib can really cross all the platforms for you, then you should not have to worry about certain specific platform, I guess?
back to the topic, what feature do you need on the map? if you just want it to be filled with random connected room it shouldnt be too difficult.
