Topic: 10 Signs You Should Dump Your Boyfriend
+Anonymous A — 12.7 years ago #30,111
1. There are serious problems in your relationship. If your boyfriend has cheated or abused you either physically or verbally, dumping him is the absolute best thing that you can do. Though people can and do change, some don't. Getting out of a bad situation before it gets worse is in your best interest.
2. You no longer get along. All couples fight. Fighting can even play a healthy role in a relationship - if it's limited and you can work through your problems. However, if you can't even agree on little things like what movie to see or where to eat, it may be time to dump him.
3. He doesn't make you happy anymore. Consider how happy you are with the relationship on a scale of one to 10. If your happiness level is below a five, it's seriously worth considering a breakup.
4. You're no longer attracted to your boyfriend. Physical attraction is very important in a relationship. It's one thing to no longer be in the "butterflies" stage that happens early on, but if you really do not feel attracted to your boyfriend at all anymore, it may be time to breakup.
5. He doesn't put as much effort into the relationship as you do. If your boyfriend just doesn't seem to care as much as you do, it may be time to reevaluate the situation. Some signs of this include him never making the effort to contact you, being unwilling to attend family functions with you, and not wanting to compromise.
6. It feels like your boyfriend doesn't respect you anymore. In the beginning of the relationship, your guy probably bragged about some of your talents or good qualities to his friends and family. Now, it might feel like he no longer appreciates you or you might even feel like he puts you down in front of other people - or when you're alone.
7. Your boyfriend doesn't care if you stay together. If your boyfriend has openly expressed that a breakup wouldn't hurt him, this is one of your main signs to dump him.
8. You don't want the same things. If you want to have kids one day and he's against it, this can be a problem. If you can't imagine a future with him, breaking up now instead of wasting any more time may be ideal.
9. Your lifestyles are too different. Does he party hard? Are you an outdoorsy type, while he would rather play video games? While having your own lives can help you get past minor lifestyle differences, there are some cases in which your differences just may be too much for the long run.
10. Your family and friends hate him. The people who know us best may be more perceptive than us when we are in "love" because we often get blinded. If your family and friends all can't stand your boyfriend, it could be because he's simply not right for you.
Finally, if you frequently question whether or not you should be with your boyfriend, this may be a sign in itself. It's normal to question your relationship occasionally, such as when you argue. If you find yourself asking if it's meant to be on a daily basis, this could be a sign that it's time to move on.

@previous (B)
I presumed gender anonymity when posting this, although it does state "boyfriend".
