at my office there is a wall where everyone posts their speeding tickets
they are doing a competition, who gets the most wins
i joined in today with my first ticket
also it's a huge office full of mid-20 nerds who all live with their parents and everyone has an expensive audi, mercedes or bmw
and one guy uses the phrase "son of a bitch" at least twice per sentence

I've read books on how to get out of tickets. I've known others who did that plus got radar detectors and laser detectors. You're supposed to avoid the tickets.

i know but they're pricing the tickets so that people just pay instead of investing the time to get out of it. why would i spend hours trying to find a loophole when i would earn more money working during that time...

In the USA, tickets cost a bit, and then insurance goes up like crazy. Too many tickets and you lose your license.

my dad actually once got a DUI ticket cause his BAC was .51 instead of the legal .5
he asked his friend who is a lawyer and he got out of it. what happened was that the cops who tested him didnt have a certified meter with them so they had to take him to the station to test him again with a certified device. and since apparently it takes a while until the alcohol in whatever you drink makes its way into your blood he basically told them he had a drink right before he got in the car and he would have been done driving before his BAC ever reached .51. that was it lol.

in austria we have that thing called an "anonym verfügung". the idea is that when a stationary speed camera takes a picture of your car, they would have to figure out who actually drove the car to press charges against that person. since that is usually a lot of effort involving cops going to your house and comparing you to photos, asking neighbors etc (which apparently happens in germany) they just send you an anonymverfügung which basically says we don't know who drove that car and if you just pay a fraction of the fine then we don't care and it's done with and there are no legal consequences, like having your license suspended or insurance issues. but you can't fight that in court, so if you wanna fight it, you have to ignore the anonymverfügung for a few weeks then they start an investigation, but you risk paying the full fine if you lose.

In Arizona it has to be a picture of you when the speed camera takes the photo. There was a guy who went around wearing ape masks and alien masks and shit, speeding through the speed camera zone, and getting every one of his tickets thrown out just for fun.

Most intersections with red light cameras have more than one camera. It takes three pics for a ticket to be valid one as you're entering the intersection against a red light, then 2 more from front and rear once your in the middle of the intersection. The pics from the front show both your face and vehicle plates.
Fortunately in Los Angeles a judge deemed red light cam tix to be unenforcable and everyone stoppd paying them altogether. So the city council voted to have the cameras removed. They still recommended that the residents pay any outstanding tickers they've received. But of course no one did.
