just caught the end of a docu on History channel earlier and it was talking about the end of the war..
apparently hitler and eva braun were each given an ampule of cyanide and a pistol.....it is believed Hitler took the cyanide (glass found in mouth of the corpse)and then shot himseld as well....so as to make certain he was not taken alive by Stalin's troops..

they said Hitller had given orders for his body to be totally destroyed (burned) so as not to give Stalin a chance to put the corpse on display.......and people have said that german officers attempted to burn the body but before it was completely consumed they fled because of the battle very close to them..

the russians got info from Hitlers staff where to look for the body and recovered it.....they confirmed it was him by finding the persoanl assistant of his dentist and looking at the teeth on the corpse......it was said he had terribly bad teeth...in fact that he only had three or four real teeth left and the others were gold crowns his dentist made for him..

anyways...the russians buried the corpse on some russian base and ended up digging it up and reburying it on different russian bases up to eight times..over the course of several years...supposedly the reason was so the germans could not build a shrine and inter him at said shrine..

also they had footage of dead german Joseph_Goebbels‎ one of Hitler's top men......laid out on the ground at Hitler's last bunker.....as well as four young girls laying dead....Goebbells daughters who had gone to the bunker for safety when the bombing got heavy.........their mother is said to have poisoned them to spare them from harm as germany was conquered..
