Neat. I haven't broke my canon or lumix out in a while but maybe it'd be fun to start doing a little photography again. Of course I don't really work in 35mm but in my amatuerish opinion I think you have a pretty good eye. Playing with depth of field is a lot of fun too if you haven't done much work with that yet. What setup are you working with now? I've got like 6-7 old 35mm canon's in storage somewhere just collecting dust. Unfortunately no darkroom to work in and getting someone else to develop them wouldn't be much fun. Just a little protip in case you're not aware if but if/when you should ever decide to upgrade Canon has a buyback program where you can get a pretty solid discount by returning an old canon (even a broken 35mm off ebay you might spend 15usds on can save you a fair bit). It's not really advertised a whole lot but a simple google search should give you a more accurate idea or you can make an inquiry to Canon themselves for more info.

I've rented a Nikon FM10 through my school's photography program. I only really got to try playing with depth of field a little bit just recently in the studio, didn't really do anything with it but that was lovely. Outside, aperture is mostly controlled by the lighting.
I'm thinking I can borrow some different lenses (there's a wide-angle, that'd look nice) after Christmas if I'm there. My dad had this really nice SLR, but an LED broke so he... tossed it? logic is gr8
I'm building a 150mm pinhole too, that'll be done soon. Hoping to be able to make my own film and paper, that'd be really cool. I just need to get the chemicals approved by the photo teacher, and he's kind of crotchety.

and you totally sohuld get back into photography, it's the quickest way to keep developing an artistic eye, yay

That sounds awesome. That's too bad that you're dad tossed a perfectly salvageable SLR. Maybe double check w/ him? Perhaps it just got put up somewhere. Although w/ Canon's buyback program I'm pretty sure it's specific to Canon models... it's like, an upgrade discount when you return one but what you save off the MSRP is pretty awesome. I started with a digital rebel and never picked up a Nikon again after that, lol.

I was really into it for a while but I just haven't been as enthusiastic since I sold my 7D. I think I may replace it because I really am not as happy with the Lumix G1 or the other Canon I'm using (that one is actually my wife's camera but she never really got into it). I still have a couple thousand images I need to sort through on an external hard drive. I haven't done anything notable lately beyond that stuff I showed you on deviantART forever ago. I have done a little painting recently but digital photography definitely has more uh... instant gratification? I have a friend that's doing a sort of punk vegan cookbook that was asking about some stock stuff he could use anyway. Anyway, thanks for sharing your stuff at TC, I'm looking forward to seeing how your work progresses.

Ugh, I'm going to have to go get some stuff out of storage and see what all I have to work w/ now, lol.
