From what I understand, the impossible modernity you've created is so overwhelming to most individuals that they need a stimulant to function in it, especially the lower races for whom innate intellectual capacity makes it an even greater hurdle (for Europeans though, it's a case of the Jewish extroversion foisted upon them). Naturally, they turn to the alkaloids, among which is nicotine. Your straight-edge(/-y) moralism does nothing to alter these realities. Although, personally speaking, I'd rather die of cancer than have you wave your useless-eater slavery ("hurr, as a taxpayer I devote tribute to the feudal lord") as a bragging right.
