Whereabouts is the hole, is it at the gum line, in the very centre of the crown, or is it just a corner of the crown snapped off?

yeah if it's broken down to the gumline, chances are that you will at least need a crown(cap) on it. it not hurting could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing. have you had any work done to this tooth before? like a root canal?
