Yes. That means they have an infection which requires a root canal, or an extraction if there's too much healthy tooth structure gone. Depends on the doctor but most will get the patient some antibiotics and pain meds, and either start a root canal (1st half of it so you can get out of pain) or have them come back after the round of antibiotics has been finished.

i havent worked for one, well the only time ive seen it happen is when people are asking for refill after refill. but no the ones ive worked for give it to you at least the first time whether you ask for it or not
