Also some of us are averse to watching multiple still frames at speed; it gives me a physical headache, which is why I don't watch TV or any moving media. It wasn't in us to be hypnotized by a glowing box 8 hours a day, if you think that's natural, you're insane. If anything it's to my advantage; I'm not consumed in media culture. Generally speaking, the framerate of human vision is constant and at a pace adapted for the human brain to cope with. I don't think this has any bearing on my functioning in the outside world.

it consumed resources because flash was a piece of shit, it would interrupt the music I'm listening to. in the case of ubuntu I would actually have to close my music player and restart my browser because of some weird program priority issue. it freezes every 10 seconds to rebuffer unless I cut back my torrent uploads. 90% of the comments on youtube videos are by self-unaware autistics that make me want to facepalm, and then I immediately feel like a hipster/autist for wishing to express my feelings with a meme. of course there's ads and related videos for a bombardment of time-wasting. and oste recently, since I'm running stripped-down XP from a live CD, I have very limited space on the virtual 'system drive', modern browsers which cache tons of shit and have html5 for alternate video rendering cause the drive to reach capacity which is a bitch to undo. and there's also the fact that it takes time and is generally not interesting enough for me to come away feeling anything besides "well that was pointless".
