It's some film Kevin Smith jumped on.I went in thinking the main driver of the story was that they were going to tell everyone they were shooting up the school so while they did nobody believed it.
But I liked the alternative much better! Not as funny though! Spoilers below!
Only thing I didn't like was the end. I wanted more pleading "Why are you running? I'm ... only killing the bad guys"
But I loved how it denied us the indulgence of a traditional revenge film.
It dipped its toe with the death of two dirties but it was quick and left all the others unharmed.
He was denied his perfect shot for his movie and we were denied our revenge porn - I love it.
A perfect way to end a school shooting film without endorsing it and without "y did u kill us ;___;"
The moment watching the friend learn music and change to fit in with the girls and drama team hit hard -
Watching the friend seem to take on a whole new identity to leave you and thinking "You're lying to yourself" hit way too close to home.
All I could think at the end was his line "If they don't get it they'll kill me."
The person he'd explained it all to didn't get it in the last moment - and he realises nobody will.
