I don't think the poster you cited said anything to indicate he is a Beney Israel. Most of the time the people who think they find Jews in hiddle places forget about the non religious and non practicing ones. I think as a whole there are a lot of people who are born into a Jewish household, but have no real connection to the Beney Israel at all.
