Will and surrender, mastery and renunciation, spiral together in an indissoluable helix which in itself is another set towards the sublime. Such a theory asserts its legitimacy through the forms of its discrediting, unmakes and decenters itself only to produce suppler forms of authoritative discourse. Post-modern theory yields the vision of a cultural 'heterotopia' which has no edges, heirarchies or center, but is nevertheless always framed by the theory that wills it into being, a theory that, in its authoritative disavowal of authority, in a pervading inclusiveness or 'perclusion.' In surrendering to the urge to neologism, I invoke a representative form of this critical discourse, in its simultaneous will to push languages beyond itself and to objectify that movement in a respectable formula.
